The Booth!

The Sassy Pose booth was a success! Thanks to all those that came out and supported us. We sold out of a lot of merch. All of our SPose jewelry is gone! Everything left is on super sale to get it out of stock to make room for our future new orders. The website will be updated later this week. Right now it is under construction so we can clear out everything we sold at the booth. We'll keep everyone posted on our plans when we know them! Thanks for following!

Love is in the air!

Ali chose ROBERTO!!! I loved everything about the last episode! Kissing in the ocean and it starts raining... so romantic. Ali letting go of Chris before the proposal day...to spare his feelings! Chris going out with his head held high and without anything bad to say about Ali. The RAINBOW that came out right after Ali dumped Chris which we all know is the sign that Chris' mother sends from heaven to let her know she is there. It couldn't have been better!

And now Roberto and Ali are so in love and so sweet together. Moving in together in San Diego and planning a wedding for next year. I am so glad none of those horrible rumors about Roberto breaking her heart or her not choosing anyone in the end were right. This was a great season!
I do need to say that there was one tiny thing that bugged about tonight's episode. I didn't have fun looking at all the outfits and accessories of Ali's. That's usually one of my favorite parts but tonight just wasn't doin it for me. Oh well...

I vote Chris for the next bachelor.

Can I just say that the second week I named my top 3 and Roberto was numero dos. I did say that something felt off about him but he was still one of my faves. I think the thing that was off was that he was too good to be true! I am full of butterflies and rainbows right now. It's borderline ridiculous so I better go to bed.
Until next season...

Down to two...

Roberto and Ali

Probably the cutest thing I've witnessed on TV this entire year was Roberto telling Ali "I am falling in love with you" all sheepishly and so sincerely. You could tell he was getting nervous leading up to that because he was totally rambling. If I had to choose, I would be team Roberto for the finale in two weeks! Even though he was sweating like a pig the whole episode in Tahiti, I think he is a good guy and he makes her excited, so that's a good match right there.

Tahiti was a good choice. So romantic and secluded. I seriously want some of those blue, off-the-shoulder, wavy and loose shirts that Ali wore on the day that she was supposed to go on the date with Frank. All the clothes she wore tonight looked comfortable and fun! Too bad Frank ruined the cute shirt day for us.

Frank - you disappointed us all my friend. You probably would have been with Ali in the end and instead you had to go find your ex girlfriend. What I really want to know is the reason that they broke up to begin with. Because it sounds like he just broke up with her to go on the show. Otherwise when he showed up at her door wouldn't she be saying something like "we broke up for a reason...I need to think about this?" Also, why was she in a hotel room? They did not give us a very clear explanation of what was going on.

This weeks episode fully entertained me. I laughed, I yelled {sometimes the TV gets it from me}, I said "awwwww" a lot. I had to tell my husb to "shush" at least 5 times...which means it was good because I was listening intently. I am excited for the men tell all next week because I want some of those guys to smash wrestler Justin in the face! Doesn't this show just bring out the best in me? :)

Both guys seem like good, cute, sincere and fun guys. So either way I think its a good choice. What team is everyone else on?

Kate.

Kate Beckinsale is one of my faves! And not necessarily because of what she wears, but I just love her overall look all the time. Her hair, unique face, and quiet confidence is what I think sets her apart. She is classy, chic, and doesn't try to do too much. I think that sometimes {or most times} it is better to go with something you feel good in and accessorize with one great piece or even your shining personality. We can learn a lot from timeless beauties like her!

awkward.

Good news or bad news first? Ok, bad news. I just had to endure an incredibly awkward 10 mins while in line waiting to get my sandwich made. Good news! I got a good idea for a new regular segment for this blog! Now I've got you wondering don't I?

So, for lunch today I walked into a sub shop to get my usual and took my place in the very back of the longer-than-normal line that had formed. When you are standing in line by yourself you can't help but check out the other people around you. Especially when they all have their backs toward you because then you don't have to hide your elevator eyes. C'mon, I know you all do it.

So, there is a couple standing directly in front of me...the right side of the couple was a cute petite girl. Two things I noticed about this girl 1. she was carrying a great Gucci bag that was a perfect size and 2. she had one of those extremely teased and rounded hairstyles going that was cinched at the bottom into a pony. Ya know...the kind of hair that appears to make your head into a completely round ball and makes it look at least double the size that it actually is.

I am not trying to judge or say anything bad about this type of hair choice. I think everyone is completely and totally entitled to their own style and that is what makes us unique! That is when I thought of my fun new segment. I can take pictures of the real people I notice while people watching and post the pictures on here to discuss likes, dislikes, unique ideas, opinions and thoughts {of course keeping all faces out of the shot}.

So, for my first "real people" discussion I wanted to snap a pic of the teased hair girl to discuss this particular type of hairstyle and see opinions and thoughts of why some choose to do their hair this way. So I decided to pull out my phone and do the ol' "I am just checking my text messages but have to hold my phone up high enough for a picture" bit. I made sure to put my Blackberry on silent and got into position. Two things I failed to take into account 1. turning my phone on silent does not stop the "snap" sound when snapping a picture 2. my camera flash is always set on auto. You know where I am going with this...

The moment I snapped a pic and it clicked and flashed {in the awkwardly silent restaurant} the couple turned around to see my Blackberry staring at them straight in the hair...I mean face. I had no way out {apparently my reflexes are faulty}. My arm was obviously held up way too high to just have accidentally pressed the camera button while I was texting. And there was nothing else in the vicinity that I could have been taking a picture of. So what do I do? Just keep it in the air and squint at the phone like I am really concentrating on whatever it is on the screen. They just stare at me like they are waiting for an explanation but I avoid all eye contact. The guy is turned around for a good 25 seconds. It felt like time was standing still and I had no idea where to go from here. Like I am going to say "sorry I was taking a picture of the back of you and your girlfriend"?!

The couple hadn't even ordered yet at this point. So for the next ten minutes I just stand next to them...all the way through the cheese, veggies, and sauce. They glance at me at least once every minute and I ignore the awkward air. I swear the guy almost started to say something to me two different times. They wanted to know why the heck I took a picture of them!

Worst part about this story? The picture didn't even turn out with my phone camera! {see pic below} You can see nothing but an average looking ponytail. You are just going to have to trust me on this one...it was a whole different 'do in person. It was a head turner!

Against better judgment, I think I will still try out my new "real people" segment. Just thought I would share this failed attempt for a laugh! Have a good weekend everyone!

I am thinking of doing this...

to my hair. Color and cut. I need some oomph! I've tried a short cut, dark dye, streaks of hilights and lowlights, extensions....everything! And I still get bored of my hair so easily. My only concern is that I will be disappointed when I am sitting in that salon chair and they spin me around to see the final product and my face hasn't magically changed to look exactly like Reese Witherspoons. And by that I mean what if I don't have the face shape, coloring etc to pull it off? Any professional advice?

Bach-ette: It's getting serious

It's really getting down to the wire in the Bachelorette! I am pretty happy with the guys that are left. Ever since I found out that Roberto wasn't the one that secretly had a girlfriend {I thought he did from the beginning based on the previews of that episode} he has become my favorite.

On Ali and Roberto's date this week in Portugal I thought they were so cute together. I mean, how romantic is dancing in the overly crowded street in the middle of the day in a foreign country? Roberto melts her heart.

The worst idea in the history of the Bachelor/Bachelorette is 2 on 1 dates. That is just the most awkward thing ever. I even feel uncomfortable just watching it! What are you supposed to do...just talk to Ali like no one else is there and hope she does the same thing back? I'm so glad there can't be any more of those since next week are hometown dates.

I definitely think that it was a good decision to send Ty home this week. He straight up said that one of the reasons for the divorce with his wife was because of their views on women working or being in the home. He is old fashioned and doesn't think a wife should work. And she is famous for leaving the Bachelor last season to go back to work!! I mean really Ty...can't be surprised.

My favorite part of this whole episode was Ali's rose ceremony outfit. I loved it! She has such a different and confident style. It was adorable paired with the stand-out cocktail ring. Last night she wore this Alice&Olivia dress

***Let me know your thoughts on the episode. Also, when I signed into this blog this morning I checked all the comments on my previous post and thought I published them but now they are not showing up under the post. Does anyone have any idea why this would happen or how to fix it? Thanks for stopping by!

Holiday style!

Good evening everyone! I hope you all had a fantastic patriotic weekend. I had a fabulous 4th of July weekend! It was everything I hoped for and more. This is a pretty good representation of how I felt the whole time...

{in case you can't tell...this should represent bliss ;)}

I did pretty well on my holiday goals that I mentioned in the previous post. I worked on my look....put together new outfits, played with my makeup, and changed hairstyles for each event! I definitely improved my footwear. I never just slipped on cheap flip flops...I planned my outfits around my Sassy Pose sandals {only $11.99} and my Sassy Pose black flats {only $11.99} !

My goals with food moderation is a whole different story... :)

My husband C and I at some of the main events of the weekend....

Had to show off the SP sandals {pic on left} Seeing Eclipse {Pic on right}

Went very casual for the AZ DiamondBacks game.

All laughs at the Comedy Club. {doesn't my cute husb have great style?}

Red, White and Blue Weekend!

Fun Family in town. A much needed pedicure adding a summery color to my toesies. An MLB game and ballpark hotdogs. A double date to see The next Twilight installment: Eclipse. BBQ: Steak, Brisket and Chips. Comedy Club with our relative as the headliner. And fourth of July fireworks.

Is there anything better than the 4th of July weekend?

The only thing that could make this better would be new outfits for each event! I hate taking pictures wearing the same thing that I am wearing in every other picture. Does anyone else ever think about that on holiday weekends?

My 2 girly goals:

1. I am determined to change up my look! I have my new Sassy Pose summery sandals to wear to the game tonight and I will build my outfit around them!

2. Holidays always include a lot of food. I am not willing to miss out on any of it. So my goal this weekend is moderation. 1 brisket sandwich...1 hot dog...1 slice of fruit pizza...etc.

Happy Independence Day everyone! Can't wait to see everyone's pictures!

Summer Legs

One unpleasant thing about summer time is the fact that us girls have to have summer smooth legs all the time. Unlike the forgiving winter months when our legs are constantly hiding under pants, boots, and layers of socks and we can get away with spacing out our shaving days. One lil factoid you may not know about me is that I only like to use disposable razors. I don't like changing just the razor heads because I feel like the handles get dirty. It's just one of those things.

So the other day I was going to shower then lay out at the pool. I found my disposible razor box empty! Gasp! But my husb has had a men's razor sitting in our bathroom forever... and since he doesn't even use razors I thought "perfect!" So I used it...got an awesome shave...and laid out in the Arizona sun until I was almost melted into a puddle.

Point being...I realized I got a better shave using the men's razor than I ever had with my stupid regular women's razors. So...I have converted. Today I bought a package of the most trustworthy looking men's disposible razors. Between using those and my Jergen's natural glow lotion I can make my legs happy for summer!

Another Epi

Not much to share about Bach-ette this week. I've been reading that all of Ali's interviews lead us to believe that she doesn't pick anyone in the end. So that's buggin me. I am obvs still going to watch it though.

I love how dramatic they make the departures when someone doesn't get a rose. Like how they left Kasey chillin in the middle of nowhere in Iceland and took off in a helicopter. I didn't even feel bad for him...it was his time. After this I never want to hear the word "heart" again. I think he set a record for the amount of times using that word in a one hour episode on TV.

Thank goodness Chris N. was the one to not get a rose at the ceremony this week. I didn't even know who that guy was! It NEVER showed him this whole time and then this week they decide to show him and Ali have 1 minute of one-on-one time together. And it was SO awkward. He definitely flew under the radar the whole time.

It's getting down to the real competition now. The game it on!

{p.s. I think she looks gorgeous in this picture.}

Something Original

Today it was 105 degrees here in Arizona! So what better to do than a spontaneous photo shoot and smoothie run? So I pulled on my flap butt pocket jeans and a super thin white shirt. It took me more than a little minute to make a decision on which pieces of my new AlliOriginal jewelry I would debut...but I did make a decision and was out the door with my man (my personal photographer :) and my pup (some good company!).

AlliOriginal is brand new and has some of the cutest, most original jewelry! Allison makes each and every item herself. You can purchase her jewelry pieces on etsy by clicking HERE and you can check out her new crafty blog by clicking HERE.

Today I chose to accessorize with my two absolute favorite pieces that you will see in the pictures below. The beautiful stone necklace is named Nikki and it's my favorite because of the vibrant color and uniqueness of the stone placement. And the sweet bracelet I'm wearing is named Mary Ellen and it is two intertwined chains with faux pearls attached. They are both great 'stand out' pieces that will add something special to any outfit {and an extra plus is that all allioriginal items are very inexpensive!}.

JESSE for next Bachelor!

Very entertaining episode! All I have to say is....16 mins of muted-voice Kasey is 16 mins too much. Too much! Aside from the fact that his voice is creepy to listen to, he was nauseating with his cheesy lines, awful singing and obsessiveness. Oh, and If he says "guard and protect my heart" again...I can't even talk about this anymore. He got a tattoo. She shouldn't have let him stay. And I am convinced that if he had shown her that tattoo then he would've been out of there.

My favorite part of the whole episode was watching the group date guys dance for Lion King auditions. That was awesome! They were all good sports and were so fun to watch. How embarrassing would that be to sing for professionals when you're not a singer?! Jesse melted my heart when he did his singing audition! LOVED it! He deserved to win the date no matter what. Best BY FAR!

Ohhhh
Jesse...the little country boy. I can NOT believe she got rid of him. She chose Kasey over him. And goofy Craig over him. And that random Chris N. guy that it NEVER even shows! I guess I have to accept the fact that people have difference tastes and I am not the bachelorette. But I still can't believe it! At least the weatherman is out of there...

Frank, Kirk and Roberto are going to be the final three. Mark my words! Of course...I thought Jesse should've won the whole thing and he didnt even make it to top 10. But that is my new prediction. Thoughts?

Heel Heaven

Once I think of the perfect touch to complete an outfit I can't stop thinking about it until I get it in my hands.... or in this case...on my feet. Right now I have three different types of heels that I NEED for this summer season to complete some of my planned fantasy outfits that I want to come to life.

Nude Pumps! I am loving NUDE everything for the summer. I actually just bought a cute nude bag today. You can wear them with everything but I imagine some beautiful nude pumps with a dark brown or light pinkish dress. Ohhh maybe even coral. Make it casual with a white sun dress or even dress it up with a saucy black dress. They will work with so many things! I have to find the perfect pair for my collection! Once again I'm on the hunt.
I want some true blue pumps. I saw an amazing outift recently that jumped out at me. It was a black pencil skirt with a stylish white beaded shirt and blue pumps. So now I am obsessed with black and white with blue! Here are some hot Joan&david pumps I found on piperlime.com.

Wedges!!! This season I want to wear florals every day! Floral flowy shirts, dresses, scarves, bags, etc! And the best compliment you can give to an outfit full of florals? Wedges!

This week's Bachette review!

Ok I am not trying to be a negative nancy about this season's Bachelorette but it's gettin to me. This week's episode was full of completely awkward moments! I usually look forward to the sweet dates that allow me to "awwwwww"...but there was none of that last night.

Let's start from the beginning...on the group date when Barenaked Ladies were playing their song and the guys were telling what the song was about...that was too cheesy and forced for me. I mean they were saying that this song represents exactly what they are going through on this journey with Ali and half of them haven't even had an hour alone with her yet!

But overall the group date was really funny to me. The poor insecure weather man that looks like he's 5 was so nervous. Made me think of last week when he was so nervous to put on the speedo and needed extra attention. This week he was so nervous about kissing her for the music video so he let her know "if you're uncomfortable then we don't have to do it"...haha! I wouldnt be surprised if his kiss with Ali was his first kiss ever!

I do think that the hardest thing about being a part of this would be to see her kissing all the other guys when you already feel like you are dating. Like Frank who already has this great connection with her but he can't do anything about it. Its just not natural. Poor Frank.

I have to mention Jesse's outfit at the cocktail party. Yes Jesse's my boy and all but all denim? Really? Everyone else is looking sharp in full on fancy suits and he is wearing jeans and a denim button up! The fact that he's 'down to earth' and 'just bought his first suit' is part of his charm for sure but I would've rather seen him in some slacks and a dress up shirt from the buckle or something...

Weird muted voice guy has pretty much been described by me up to this point as creepy (to say the least!). So of course I found it hilarious when he described Justin the wrestler as 'creepy' tonight.

While we're on the wrestler...I don't understand why everyone hates him so much. I think that there is more going on in the house that they aren't showing us. Just like Vienna last season. It shows all this drama about them talking about 'what he's done' and 'how he acts towards them' but we haven't seen any of what he's done. Dang editing!

At the end of this episode I wish she could've gotten rid of about 3 more guys. Next week I am looking forward to more cute romantic moments, some real drama, and better outfits to look at! Gotta love it!

7 layer dip

Mmmmm...7 layers of deliciousness! The NBA finals are on and there isn't a better snack for the game than 7 layer dip. And it's good luck! 2 years ago I made this dip for my boyfriend when his absolute favorite team was in the finals. His team won the championship and 6 months later we were married!

My 7 layers are:

1. Refried Beans on the bottom... to create the foundation!

2. Salsa (I blend mine up so there aren't chunkies)

3. Guacamole then 4. Ground beef
(I didnt have Guac this time so I replaced with cheese...)

5. My favorite part is putting a little taco seasoning in the sour cream and mixing it up!
6. Cut up the tomatoes to sprinkle on the top

7. Finish it off with shredded cheese!

You can also add olives for an 8th layer! Complete the snack with scoop chips and enjoy!

The Collection

I am planning on putting together the perfect makeup collection. I recently realized that I am always trying new products but I am never fully satisfied with everything I am wearing on my face at any given time. So the search is on! I want to have my products that I know are the best and that I can recommend to others. Since I have gone through a lot of products I am already loyal to a few items that I know I can count on.

What is already a staple in my makeup bag:

1. BLUSH - Maybelline Dream Mousse gives such a perfect little blush to your cheeks. Being a mousse really helps it blend in and give you a natural dewey look. I use the Peach Satin color.

2. EYELINER - CoverGirl LineExact Liquid Eyeliner Pen. Very Black. I hate all other liquid eyeliners. This is so exact and stays on all day! I have been using it for years.

3. EYELINER - MAC Kohl Power Eye Pencil- Feline. This is a great pencil for the Smoky Eye look. It is also perfect for lining the inside of the eyeline. Sometimes I use this for just the bottom and the CoverGirl liner for the top!

4. FOUNDATION/POWDER - MAC Studio Fix powder plus foundation. Find your color! It gives such a great weightless finish on your face. My complexion never looked so smooth and even before this. Apply with a brush and not the spongie.

5. TWEEZERS - I found these little beauties in a Sally Hansen at home waxing kit. It comes with these mini tweezers and I fell in love at first use!

What my makeup bag is lacking:

Tinted moisturizer/Bronzer - I have always used bronzer but lately I have been hearing of everyone using tinted moisturizer. I want to try it but don't know what brand works.

Mascara - I have tried so many mascaras but haven't found my favorite mix of length volume and no smudging.

Eyeshadow - I hear MAC is the best but I can't find a good 'everyday' color.

Lip Color - Always have a problem with this one. I need something to compliment my skin tone and stay all day!

Concealor- Need something for dark undereyes and blemishes.

I will keep you all updated on what I find. If you would like recommendations for any specific products OR have recommendations for me to try...let me know!
